"Co-op is the UK's leading convenience store and a pioneer in Quick Commerce, where we now have a 92% reach across the UK. We're looking forward to this new partnership and the insights and opportunities it will bring. Sharing deeper data will be instrumental in helping us, our suppliers, and partners serve Co-op members and shoppers. Co-op Catalyst will unlock this channel, enabling suppliers to apply core Category Management principles to up-to-date data and recommend actions that accelerate growth for both their brands and Co-op."

Kate McCrae, Operations and QCommerce Director, Co-op

Why quick commerce is the channel brands measure least well

Quick commerce is the fastest growing part of UK grocery. IGD forecasts average growth of 10.7% a year across UK quick commerce over the next five years, and Co-op has set a target of doubling its quick commerce sales to over £1bn by 2030.

It's also the channel most brands can measure least well, for two reasons.

Aggregator orders are placed inside the delivery apps. Product-level sales, search and conversion on those platforms aren't visible from outside, so most brands have no view of how they perform there.

Rapid delivery orders are picked from Co-op stores. Availability and nil picks are decided store by store, not on a single website, so a brand can look fully available online while losing baskets in the stores that matter.

A standard digital shelf view covers neither. Co-op Catalyst covers both.

Six questions Co-op Catalyst answers

If any of these sound familiar, this is what Co-op Catalyst was built to answer.

Online Share

"I'm losing share online but I can't see why." Monitoring the site tells you what's on the page. It doesn't tell you what shoppers bought, or what they bought instead.

Shopper journeys

"I don't know how shoppers find my products in quick commerce." Search on a rapid delivery app is a different behaviour from a weekly shop, and none of it is visible from the outside.

Co-op_landing_page_visuals_Online_versus_in-store_icon

Online versus in-store

"Some of my SKUs perform worse online than in store and I can't explain it." Without the retailer's data, the reasons stay guesswork.

Co-op_landing_page_visuals_Benchmarking_icon-1

Benchmarking

"I can't benchmark my products against competitors or the category average." Generic competitor views don't hold up in a category review with a retailer.

Fulfilment

"Nil picks are costing me sales and I don't know where." Nil picks are a store-level problem. Site-level data won't find it.

Aggregators

"I have no visibility of how I perform on the aggregators." Nor does anyone else, without Co-op's own data.

Co-op's data on your Co-op range, from search to store shelf

Co-op Catalyst covers every product you sell online with Co-op, across coop.co.uk and the aggregators. The data comes from Co-op, not from monitoring the site, and it's organised around four core drivers that decide performance in the channel: sales and share, availability, traffic and conversion.

Sales value and share for your brand and range, split by channel and platform. See where growth is coming from and where it's leaking.

Store-level availability

Fulfilment, out of stocks and nil picks at store level. Find the stores where you're losing baskets and take it to your Co-op team with the evidence.

Search term analytics with conversion

What shoppers search for, who wins each term and which searches convert. Understand how shoppers find your products in quick commerce and where competitors are taking the click.

Traffic and conversion

Views, click-through and conversion rates by product. Separate a traffic problem from a conversion problem before you spend against the wrong one.

Competitor and category benchmarks

Your performance against the category average, on the same retailer data your Co-op buyer uses.

What drives your sales and share on Co-op

Availability, traffic and conversion all feed sales and share. Co-op Catalyst tracks each of them on Co-op's own data, so you can see which one is holding your range back.

Built for eCategory Management with Co-op

Co-op Catalyst is designed to support joint category planning. The same data is available to your Co-op team, so category reviews start from a shared view rather than two versions of the numbers.
The working loop is simple. Discover insights in the platform, design the strategy with your Co-op team, execute on coop.co.uk and the aggregators, then measure the impact and go again.

In Partnership

Co-op Catalyst is a partnership between Co-op and eStoreBrands, designed to support category management across Co-op's quick commerce channels. Access is managed carefully so that every participating brand receives the support and data quality the partnership depends on.

"Having worked for brand owners like P&G and Nomad Foods, I know first-hand how valuable retailer insight is - and this was the exact solution missing for buying, category, and quick commerce teams. Quick Commerce is one of the fastest-growing channels in digital retail, and Co-op Catalyst fills a crucial gap where traditional digital shelf tools fall short. We look forward to giving suppliers a look 'under the hood' so they can make data-driven recommendations that benefit Co-op, their business and shoppers alike"
